Manufacturer’s Description: We believe the old ways are still the best. That’s why we always use genuine cider apples to craft our authentic cider selections. Now, we’ve added a zesty twist of real ginger, for an exotic and lightly spicy cider experience. We know you’ll taste the difference.

Our review: Talk about a company that is not very known in these parts, try SoulTree Hard Cider. SoulTree is part of a company called Canada’s Select Brews (AKA 2X4 Brewing). They operate a group of craft breweries specifically to export good beer to the USA. What a smart business idea! It seems like SoulTree is catching a break since they are now in most Whole Foods around the country. SoulTree offers 2 varieties at the moment, a traditional authentic dry and an authentic ginger. I took a chance with the Ginger, since it was the only variety World Market had.

With the first sip of this brew, the spicy note of the ginger hits you hard, however the dryness of the cider brings your sip to a close with a crisp, ginger ale finish. There’s a small bite at the end of your sip you can feel as it goes down your throat.

Not a cider for those who dislike gingers as the ginger flavor in this cider is very strong. I am anxious to see what the future holds for SoulTree as good things come out of Canada (Maple Syrup, 😉 hint hint SoulTree guys)
